Wrapping things up here in NH
May. 2nd, 2011 09:48 amHi everybody,
It's been a wonderful four days here in NH. The con was lovely, laid-back and filled with fantastic people (old friends and new ones, too). We had a marvelous time talking, catching up, debating HP and discussing writing. I can't think of anything we missed apart from having even MORE time to catch up one on one (is there ever enough time?). The hotel staff was helpful and worked so hard to make our stay easy. Kudos to them and to the con organizers (this was their first time out -- an amazing accomplishment!)
Friday morning programming was wonderful fun, starting with
logospilgrim's Snape presentation, followed by the roundtable on writing process (with Snape as our focal point) led by me,
dickgloucester ,
bethbethbeth , and
lariopefic . What amazing company to be in whilst discussing writing (and our favorite Potions Master). The room was full and the discussion was thoughtful and honest. It was amazing. Thank you to everybody who attended. :)
The TPP fic readings were wonderful as well (despite the tech fail around my attempt to video record them and post them for
hpcon_envy . Best not to discuss the numerous level of tech/machshefa fail around that whole effort.)
Saturday found us sleeping in (yay!) and then participating in "Family Feud." Thanks to
dixiebell ,
qui_quae_quod and
sbrande for inviting us (me and Dicky) to participate on team "The House of Death Eaters". We rocked! (Also, we froze, but unfroze enough to win our round before bowing out b/c we didn't want to play the whole tournament... ack. We had other Muggles to Crucio, y'know?). We went to
juniperus and
amydmartin 's fantastic presentation on "Unforgivables" and then hung around some more to talk, talk, talk. :)
Sat. night was the ball, which was great fun, and then we attempted to re-record the stories that hadn't taped the night before (I thought I had four of them, but it turns out that all of them got messed up... *sigh). What was nice about that was that some people had left early the prior night b/c there was a Burlesque show to attend, so people who didn't get to hear the second half of the readings had a second chance. *squishes them and thanks them for coming to listen* So even though the recording (again) didn't work, we had an encore of fic reading. :)
Sunday brunch was fun. Lots of squeeing and laughing and a bit of fangirling. :) And then a group of us went to Salem to walk around the cobblestone streets and into the quaint and magical shops... getting Tarot readings and just generally exploring.
alabastard (who had just arrived home himself) joined us and it was lovely to spend some relaxed time with him *hugs him*.
And then we finished the evening quite late with dinner together. Wonderful day.
Today is slow-moving and lovely. I head to the airport later this afternoon. I hope the airport isn't insane.
I have very few pictures. Can't wait to see others' shots when they go up. Yay!
*hugs and love to you all

Date: 2011-05-03 06:25 pm (UTC)I will. I can't find them on my phone which is what I used to take and tweet them -- that's what I meant. I need to track down the twitter image and then repost.
I'm also going to track down every image of myself and eliminate it and become the fangurl of mystery. ;)
Bwahahaha.
