Hi everybody!

I'm long overdue for an update, so let's do it with a Good Things list:

1. The pit of despair appears to have been vacated and the yawning gap of awfulness is all sealed up (hopefully). It's a tremendous relief to be smiling and laughing again. Humming to the music on the radio, and generally having energy, focus and motivation to get stuff taken care of.

2. Kids are sailing along in school. *throws talismans around*  I can't believe the school year is nearly over. Wow.

3. Fangirl weekend was awesome. [livejournal.com profile] annietalbot , [livejournal.com profile] pyjamapants , and MrPJ were awesome. Meeting G. Also, Sox and Cissy. :)  Also, Frankenstein (NT Live) was not to be believed. What an event!

4. Having tickets to see Frankenstein again with the twins (and their English teacher) after Aeternitas (with the opposite casting to what I saw previously). The girls' English class is reading "Frankenstein" next and so the timing couldn't be better. We're all pretty excited.

5. Yoga! After two injuries in a row (I need to stop treating Yoga like a high-impact sport... oo), some travel, and a miserable cold, I'm finally getting back into a regular yoga routine (without the compulsive feeling that sort of drains the joy out of it). Loving how I feel.

6. Aeternitas is coming!  *spins in circles

I can't WAIT to see everybody. I can't wait to do the writing roundtable with [livejournal.com profile] bethbethbeth , [livejournal.com profile] dickgloucester , and[livejournal.com profile] lariopefic . I can't WAIT to hang out and talk with EVERYBODY!  *dances

7. Speaking of fangirls. I haz SOCKS (a la [livejournal.com profile] ariadne1 ) and gorgeous crocheted decorative scarf a la [livejournal.com profile] shiv5468 . Thank you both so much for the amazing handmade gifts (pictures to follow when I find my camera). Apologies that it took so long to thank you both publicly (reference the yawning pit of awful mentioned above). *hugs

8. The [livejournal.com profile] fangirl_tour ! It's awesome. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] scatteredlogic  and [livejournal.com profile] firefly124  for the hard work and organization of the tour. My recs went up on Tuesday, so check them out. They're filled with, you guessed it, Sherlock BBC stories! Also, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dreamy_dragon73  for reccing "King of Swords"! *glomps her

9. Writing. I can't really explain why it is, but the SherlockBBC canon makes my muse really, really happy. I've written about 17,000 words since the end of January in the new fandom. Four short fics (all in the same Sherlock 'verse) and a Sherlock/HP crossover that will post sometime this month for the [livejournal.com profile] sherlockmas  "Spring into Sherlock" fest. It's not an anonymous fest, so when it goes up, I'll link to it.

I'm grateful to be writing. I love how it feels to find a story or for a story to find me. I love these characters and the themes I'm exploring. I enjoyed doing the crossover and would do another if the right bunny bit. I love both of these worlds and all of these characters. What could be bad?  (Other than having a hard time writing straight SSHG at the moment... *sighs... Apologies to those to whom I owe HP fic...)

Beta reading in this fandom has also been awesome. For those of you who are reading Sherlock, be sure to check out stories currently posting by [livejournal.com profile] pyjamapants  and [livejournal.com profile] sc010f . [livejournal.com profile] annietalbot  also has a fantastic Mycroft-centric story up on her LJ and AO3.

I do plan to sign up for the SSHG exchange. I'm hoping that my HP muse cooperates. I would, however, also be very happy to write another crossover if that suits (per the mods new rules).

10.  Which reminds me. "Spring into Sherlock!"

Check out the stories, you guys. The mods seem to be posting about two fics (and art) a day and will be until early May! All genres. All pairings, all sorts of yummy goodness has already posted. :) I wrote a Sherlock/HP crossover for this one, so watch the com!

How's that for a Friday?
