The New Library: Awards

Hello, lovely f-list!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with it, The New Library is a site that is dedicated to rec's of "new and underappreciated" authors and stories across the HP fandom.  In the spirit of awards season, TNL has decided to host their own awards this spring and summer.  Here is the announcement from the TNL awards site:

TNL Awards is dedicated to awarding new and/or underappreciated authors and their writing in all ships and genres! Which makes this an awards site for everyone! We have lots of different genre categories, which you can find along with full details of our rules, how to know who is 'new and/or underappreciated', how to nominate and vote, etc., in our user info, to the left, under 'Rules and Info!' But, to shorthand it all:

Nominate things you love and let we humble mods worry about checking eligibility!
Nominate yourself if you're feeling a little underappreciated in fandom these days!
This is our timeline:

May 22nd - Nominations begin at TNL

June 12th - Seconding period

June 19th - Administrative period : sending emails out to nominees, checking up on links, archiving stuff here if the author generally posts on password-protected sites. (This will be recommended to them, and I will do all the work, but it won't be a requirement. If they don't want their stuff on this archive, they'll have to take their chances with people not reading their story or voting for them!)

June 26th - Voting begins

July 12th - Voting ends

July 14th - Winners announced!

I have appreciated TNL for its steady stream of rec's across shipping categories.  I was especially thrilled to discover my very first story, "In Dreams" recc'ed there early on.  As a newbie author, I most definitely appreciate the effort that Angel Mischa and TNL is putting forth to support new  and less well-known authors in the fandom. 

So, go, run and check out the site.  Join up, rec your favorite stories!  You know you want to :)

Oh - don't mind me. I'm just all over the place with my mood today. Actually cried over chapter one of HP1 this afternoon. How bizarre is that?!

No - I was quite impressed with their list of tags, and will go and see what they've said about my faves when I am allowed a moment to do so. (Right now I am sneaking five minutes away from the riveting task of looking at bathroom tiles on the internet.... *nods off*)

I'm finding all sorts of new communities on LJ at the mo - don't know what to join, as I already need hours to keep up with the flist!
