I can see reading bits of ToL to lay groundwork, and then reading Chapter 5... where all the kewl stuff happens...
What do you think about doing a poll to see who is thinking of doing a reading, and then emailing the coordinators and suggesting that we have a looooong SSHG block of time and a room?
Yes, I like that idea about excerpting ToL. I know it's too long too read flat out, but you could highlight some of the interactions (and transformations?) from earlier in the story before going to Ch. 5, where it all... (You know what? I can't thing of a way to end that sentence without it sounding like a dirty double entendre. But you know what happens in Chapter 5, and I'm very much a fan of it. *g*)
Anyway, yes, I like the idea of a poll to see who wants to read, and us attempting to coordinate the reading through the Common Room people. I still like the idea of a more informal reading, but it's looking more and more like logistical concerns make this more structured option the smarter bet. After all, it would be organized, we would have people in one place, and we would have a guaranteed space. And we know that the time is (so far) available.
Juni is writing to the coordinators... let's try to touch base later. I'm going to work out now and then head in to work. I'd love to be able to set up a poll today and see how many of us there are who want to read so we know how many and how long of a block we need. :)
