The Snuna Reveal is up!

 And now I can thank kizzy7  for the fabulous gift she wrote for me, Mirrorball.  It's lyrical and filled with gorgeous turns of phrase as well as spot-on observations of the characters and their emotional dilemmas (my favorite, of course!).  It's emotionally nuanced and layered, and most importantly of all, shows that it's the relationship that heals.  Even if you don't really love Snuna, this one is worth a read.  Thank you, kizzy7 !

I also now get to thank talesofsnape for the fabulous banner (with matching icons!) she made for the story hours before the deadline.  It's perfect for the story, and is a piece of art in and of itself.  See its loveliness? *pauses to admire... guh...

And of course, now I can reveal my own story, written for miss_morland , As to a Portrait, Gently Drawn.  Title credit goes to ariadne1  who, when I started channeling Whitman (don't ask... really), produced the most perfect title (and who also said, "STOP right here.  It's done."  Blesses her.  And to annietalbot who, as always, reads four hundred thousand drafts without a whisper of complaint (at least not where I can hear), and guides, and points to where tweaking is needed.  Also, thank you to somigliana  who suggested that I play with tense and POV.  It hadn't occurred to me to try this, and the use of the present tense in this story is due to her, and I think it adds a great deal to the emotional tone.  Finally, thank you to iulia_linnea for providing a forum for these stories to be born.

I'd never written outside my OTP until this exchange.  Heck, I barely read outside my OTP!  I'm glad I did, though.  I enjoyed writing this story--it flowed in a way that I've not experienced in my prior fic writing and that alone was enjoyable and worth the experience.  I'd not given Luna much thought and it was interesting to do that, and to think about Snape with her as the foil.  

I'll be archiving to OWL soon, and then to the other archives (TPP, fanfic.net) soon after.

All in all, this was a really nice experience.  There are some outstanding stories in the exchange -- and I'm about a week behind in reading.  If I've not reviewed your story yet (oh, flisters who also participated), it means I've not yet caught up, but I shall!

I really, really loved your story. This was an exchange filled with some absolutely beautiful writing (even if I still can't get away from SSHG as the One True Pairing), and yours was one of my absolute favourites and the ones I remember best.

I almost managed to keep up this time, thanks to the shortness of the stories, only one left to read!

I'm really happy that my story stayed with you and that you enjoyed it so much. It was a joy to write, despite its angstyness. :) I'm still a bit behind, probably have four or five stories still to read (counts... ack!). I'd hoped to be done before the reveal, but fell behind :(

I did so well at staying on top of things until the last couple of days of the exchange, and then I had something else on for the last few days (can tell you about it on gmail rather than here) and now I have a page of updates to catch up with on OWL again and I still haven't read the last two fics or written anything for over a week (and that was only a few hundred words).

I did enjoy it very much! And I'm so flattered... thank you *blushes. I'm delighted that you loved Portrait. It makes me teary when I read it but that's b/c I have those characters in my head, you know?

It was a brilliant exchange! I'm still a few stories behind. Have had no time to read but oddly have written 1400 words for the next chapter of King of Swords. Writing is weird that way. :)
