Updates of all sorts

Hello everybody!

I've been meaning to update here for weeks (at least) and life (and my exchange fic) keep gobbling up my time. 

Thanks to the generosity of the mods, I am still working on my octopus of an exchange fic.  I'm hoping to have it in this next week (throws talismans and fairy dust everywhere) and will be so happy to have it off my plate -- so long as it's done the way I want and know it can be done. 

The reveal (and with it, the beta thanks) comes so late in the process  that I want to say right now that if it were not for the unwavering support of my alpha and beta readers who have put up with no end of teeth gnashing, whining, moaning and slamming of the head against the desktop, I'd still be staring at a blank screen doing... erm... *points up. 

You guys have been and continue to be amazing.  Unending love and gratitude to annietalbot , dickgloucester , juniperus, and junomagic for wrestling various arms of the octopus with me (hands you all more duct tape and a stapler) and for putting up with me during this process.  *glomps.    And to the rest of my friends, thank you, too -- I'm sure the whining has been no more fun for you than it's been for me!  *hugs

One another note, I was so excited to get an email last night informing me that I've been nominated in Round three of Most Potente Passions:  The SSHG Awards.  I'm delighted to say that I've been nominated in the Best New Author category (squeeeeeee and gulp!) and "The Couch" has been nominated in the "Best Fluff" category.  It thrills me to have made the ballot at all -- in both categories!  So thank you to all who nominated my story and me.  It's such a shot in the arm, especially during thislast leg of trying to get the exchange story done.

Congratulations to those of you on my flist who are nominees -- it's a tremendous honour to be on the ballot with you.  I shall congratulate more extensively when the official list is posted!
