Overwhelmed and Proud
Nov. 4th, 2008 11:20 pmSo many of you have commented in such eloquent ways about the outcome of our election here in the US. It is truly not only historic, but very emotional for many (myself included), and it makes me so proud to have participated and of my country for coming out in droves and speaking their voices in all their diversity. I'm eager to see the team that President-Elect Obama puts together. I'm hopeful that we can begin to engage in some honest (if difficult) discourse. I'm excited to see where we go from here.

I can only say that I'm one really relieved European!

For the first time in eight years, we have hope that the administration will have open discussion of issues and actually welcome input and dissenting opinions.
To say nothing of having a living symbol of social change in charge. It cracked me up when they reported on CNN that Obama's Kenyan grandmother is slaughtering a cow for a celebration feast.
Maybe race will become less of a reason to vote for or against anyone. That's a trickle down effect that I like.
