Exchange Reveals, oh, my!
Aug. 31st, 2010 01:38 pmI can hardly believe that we're already done with the splendiferous
sshg_exchange and on to the reveals.
Now I can thank
drinkingcocoa again for the absolutely magnificent quilt inspired by my exchange fic from last round, "Tree of Life". The intricacy, intelligence, artistry, and skill that is evident in the photographs of the quilt (points to icon) are surpassed only by its sheer gorgeousness when seen in person.
The mods (bless them) gave
drinkingcocoa permission to bring the quilt along to Infinitus where she gave it to me the night I arrived. A room full of fangurls all under wand-oaths to keep their silence got to 'ooh' and 'ahh' over it, giving it the admiration and adoration it so richly deserves. I was (and continue to be) flabbergasted and enormously grateful to have been the recipient of this gift. That I then got to sit on not one, but two panels at Infinitus with
drinkingcocoa was icing on the already excellent cake. :)
My contribution to this exchange, There Where I can Never Find You, for
dream_labyrinth, was written with unflagging alpha and beta guidance as well as a well of general support from a team of readers. Your input made the story so much better. Thank you for your words of wisdom, and encouragement, for putting up with the general angst (of the writer, not the story), and for your eagle eyes. Love to:
annietalbot,
juno_magic,
dickgloucester ,
miamadwyn ,
geminiscorp, and
subvers. (Dearly hopes I haven't left anybody out...) It apparently takes a village (for me) to write an exchange fic. ;)
Thanks to all of you who read the story and left such lovely comments. Engaging my readers is one of the very best parts of writing, and so hearing about your thoughts and emotional reactions to the story is satisfying, indeed.
Thanks, as always, to the mods who manage to corral a herd of artists and writers into a well-oiled machine. At least it looks that way from the outside :) Thanks also to mollyssister for the undoubtably endless hours of coding she put in to the exchange. ~Hands you each a margarita.
