Fangurlistan SAves Lives, aka, Update: Talked with T

Hi everybody.

I just got off the phone with Miss T. 

She said that she is overwhelmed (in a good way) by the incredible support she is receiving and is so appreciative of the response. Those of you who know how to contact her via phone are welcome to do so, and she, (to quote) is "welcome to not pick up the phone" if she's not feeling up to talking. She's doing a lot of dozing and said she knows that nobody will take it personally if she's not up for a conversation. :)

Also, something her husband told me last night was clarified in my conversation with her today and it's wonderful and important. 

I mentioned in my prior post that the neurosurgeon said that there was a tremendous amount of pressure in the brain from the tumor. This pressure was exacerbated by the changes in cabin pressure, but the tumor was causing most of it and it was extreme. The surgery relieved most if not all of that pressure.

So.

Had T not come to Chicago, experienced changes in cabin pressure which ultimately caused the seizure which led to this diagnosis, the neurosurgeon told her that the tumor would have caused overwhelming pressure in the brain within about four weeks. According to the doctor, that pressure would likely have killed her. As she said, it could well have happened while she was driving... *shudders at the thought

She is so very grateful that she came to Chicago and so are we all.

T and I agree. Fangurlistan saves lives!

Also, she said that she cannot read (don't know if that's permanent or not), so let's get going on those podcasts! She's excited for them.

All my thoughts are with her. Tell her I should have a bevy of recordings for her in the next couple of days. Loads of SS/HG writers have given me permission to record their fics for T, and as soon as I can figure out how to get them available, they're all hers.

Thank you for the update! Next time you speak with T, would you please consider asking her for ideas on how we can support her husband? He's going to be her primary caregiver and on-site encourager; from personal experience, I know that can be emotionally exhausting (yet also an honor and privilege). I dunno, maybe he has his own HP fics he'd like on Podcast.

I haven't had a chance to respond to the comments on the first post and noticed your concern for her husband there, too. You are wise, my dear. And, yes, we are attentive to Mr Mis_T... I have a bunch of resources to offer him/them when I see them next. I spent some time on the phone with him Monday night, and I'm sure there are some things we can do to support him. If you have some specific suggestions that you think this community could offer, please let me know (machshefa1 at gmail dot com). He's not an HP fan, but I'm sure that in our support of T, he feels some support, too (since it helps her). I think he's still (understandably) figuring a whole lot of things out.

I'm just catching up on all of this. I've told lady_karelia that I want to be involved in the fan fic podcasting. I'm having surgery on Aug. 3 and am way behind on my Exchange Fic, but beyond taking care of these priorities I'd really like to be involved in helping create some permanent type of podcast fanfic library. I'm sure many would benefit. It could be in honor of Ms. t's getting us on the ball with such a thing. So please keep me in mind to help and in the loop of any such effort, even if my active involvement might have to wait until mid-August,
